Biography

Bartolo was born about 1819 ^[1] to Vincenzo La Sala and Rosaria Trapani ^[2]. His first marriage was in 1852 to Rosalia Roccaforte ^[3], when they were each 33 years old. He and Rosalia had several children. After Rosalia's death he remarried in 1863 to 39-year-old Calogera Becchina ^[4]. Per his marriage records, Bartolo was a peasant farmer.
